ABOUT LOVES ANIMAL RESCUE

LOVES ANIMAL RESCUE is a non profit organization rescuing the Satos (stray dogs), cats and other unwanted animals off the streets of Puerto Rico.

Founded by Yesenia Maisonet with the help of her husband Jose. They began rescuing in 2017 after rescuing 8 puppies from a nearby mountain. After Hurricane Maria they began rescuing even more animals including cats & horses as people on the island were moving stateside & abandoning their animals. They officially became a 501c3 non-profit organization in May of 2019.

In September of 2019 a collaboration with Adventure Satos began. They then met the talented Just Some Dogs who has also joined the team. From this, *ASLAR began (*Adventure Satos Loves Animal Rescue). A collaborative team rescuing & using visuals such as professional photography & videography to help raise more awareness on the islands ever growing stray animal population.

Loves Animal Rescues mission is to provide a new life for animals by rehabilitating, fostering & finding them homes through local & stateside adoptions. Practicing *TNR (*Trap Neuter Release) for feral animals to help the spread of more stray animals on the island.

Their goal is to continue saving lives, expand & maybe even open up their own animal sanctuary one day & rescue all types of animals.

Ginger

This 2-3 year old female is UTD on vaccines and spayed, friendly and loves affection, and she gets along with most dogs.

Sandy

Sandy is 3 years old, female & spayed and vaccinated. She can be shy at first but is sweet & playful. Sandy is medium sized. She is potty trained & leash trained.

Luther

Luther is ten years old, male, neutered & vaccinated. He has come a long way since being rescued. This beautiful senior loves cuddles and food/treats any time of day. He gets along with most female dogs and gets along with puppies. Luther weighs about 65lbs and is leash, crate & potty trained. For more on his story check out our Instagram page.

Spring

Spring is about a year old now, she is shy but does enjoy treats and affection. She gets along with other dogs and is ok with cats.

Kanela

Four years old, female, chocolate lab mix, vaccinated & spayed, and loves people and walks. Kanela gets along with some dogs. Cats and chickens are a big no. She is also leash & crate trained & potty trained.

Playita

Female 5month old puppy, 21lbs, vaccinated and spayed. Playita is dog and cat friendly.

Negrita

Negrita is a sweetheart and does well with other dogs. She is around 3 years old and medium sized (weighs about 35lbs). She is potty and leash trained. Negrita is a wiggle butt of happiness and ready for her forever home.

Frosty

Frosty is about 3 years old and weighs 15lbs. He is vaccinated and neutered. Frosty can be shy at first but loves hard once he trusts you. He is also dog and cat friendly.

Grayson

Grayson is about 1 years old. He loves to play, is dog friendly, affectionate and loves to eat. He is already neutered and UTD on vaccines.

Rocky

Male 4year old dog

Puchy (Poochy)

Male 3year old dog, weighs around 50lbs, up-to-date on vaccines and neutered. Puchy is a sweet and affectionate dog.

Grace

Grace aka Mama Grace is about 2-3 years old, and gets along with most dogs. She can be shy at first but loves walks and affection. She is fully potty and leash trained.

Jericho

Male 8-9 month old kitten. He is the last of his littermates looking to be adopted. Jericho gets along with other cats and loves affection.

Cindy

Cindy is around 3-4 years old, she's shy around people but gets along with other cats. And continues to improve with meeting new people.

Harry

Harry is two years old, male, neutered & vaccinated. Harry gets along with other cats and is a couch potato.

Where is Loves Animal Rescue Located?

We are located in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico.
Where do our rescued Satos fly to?

Our rescued cats & dogs can usually fly anywhere in the U.S. Depending on which airlines are open at the time & if there are any weather delays.
What is ASLAR?

ASLAR stands for: Adventure Satos Loves Animal Rescue. We are partners with Adventure Satos in rescuing & rehabilitating Satos, exposing their reality through photography & videography to educate & help raise awareness. We hope to educate others about the existing problems of animal abandonment on the island of Puerto Rico.
